Have done quite some experimental shoots and personal work lately. Struggling to keep the creativity flowing and in the same time trying to do some “big” productions, all in the vain hope to produce some work which is good enough to show in my portfolio. Overall, I threw enough against the wall that in the end something has stuck. Special thanks to Harm, the owner, from garage bedrijf AKTIEF for letting me do a shoot with the MIG-21 at his premises. Also thanks to Dave for being so relaxed and be the willing model whom I dressed up as a kind of James Bond. Next to this MIG-21-Bond shoot I had the pleasure of having Wilfried in front of the camera, no really crystal clear concept, just some guerilla strobist kind of style roadtrip. Driving around, seeing a cool spot, getting the equipment out of the car and trying to squeeze someĀ images. Unfortunately just at we really go the hang of it….the rain set in. Next time hopefully some more time. With Wilfried I did some shot at dawn with in the background the fence of the MBS railroad museum in Haaksbergen. Finally some shots indoors with the kids. Instead of the usual “happy lifestyle-high key, glossy magazine” style I thought why not some B&W images with deep shadows? The final shot might not be a real “noir” shot but I thought it was to good not include. Simple set up: umbrella softbox straight on top aiming down, and behind the green camera left a 1/2 CTO gelled bare strobe lighting the close environment behind her creating some separation. As usual, follow the link
